Chapter 12 Bandwidth Management 12.9.1 Rule Configuration Click the Edit icon or select User Defined from the Service drop-down list in the Rule Setup screen to configure a bandwidth management rule. Use bandwidth rules to allocate specific amounts of bandwidth capacity (bandwidth budgets) to specific applications and/or subnets. Figure 84 Bandwidth Management Rule Configuration The following table describes the labels in this screen. Table 59 Bandwidth Management Rule Configuration LABEL DESCRIPTION Rule Configuration Active Select this check box to have the ZyXEL Device apply this bandwidth management rule. Enable a bandwidth management rule to give traffic that matches the rule priority over traffic that does not match the rule. Enabling a bandwidth management rule also allows you to control the maximum amounts of bandwidth that can be used by traffic that matches the rule. Rule Name Use the auto-generated name or enter a descriptive name of up to 20 alphanumeric characters, including spaces. BW Budget Specify the maximum bandwidth allowed for the rule in kbps. The recommendation is a setting between 20 kbps and 20000 kbps for an individual rule. Priority Select a priority from the drop down list box. Choose High, Mid or Low. 162 P-660H-Tx v2 User's Guide
