Checking a nd cha nging printer driver settings Before p rinting, check that the p rinter d river settings on the Pap er and Grap hics m enu s are ap p rop riate for the kind of d ocu m ent you w ant to p rint, and change settings as need ed . When you are finished m aking changes, click O K to ap p ly the settings, or click Resto re Defa ults to retu rn the settings to their factory d efau lts. Pa p er menu t Paper size t Orientation t Paper source Select the size of the p ap er load ed in the p rinter. If you d on't see you r p ap er size, u se the scroll bar to scroll throu gh the list. If you r p ap er size is not inclu d ed in the list, click C usto m and enter the paper size in the d ialog box that appears. Select Po rtra it or La nd sc a p e. Click the p ap er sou rce you w ant to u se. Gra p hic s menu t Resolu tion Click the p rinting resolution you w ant. t Dithering You can leave this op tion set to Fine , w hich is the d efau lt setting, or select another dithering pattern, depending on the kind of printout you w ant. The d isp lay to the left of the d ithering op tions show s the effect of you r setting. t Intensity Move the slider to make your printout lighter or d arker. Once you 've checked you r p rinter d river settings, you are read y to print. Checking and changing printer driver settings
Before printing, check that the printer driver settings on the Paper
and Graphics menus are appropriate for the kind of document you
want to print, and change settings as needed. When you are
finished making changes, click
OK
to apply the settings, or click
Restore Defaults
to return the settings to their factory defaults.
Paper menu
Paper size
Select the size of the paper loaded in
the printer. If you don’t see your paper
size, use the scroll bar to scroll through
the list. If your paper size is not included
in the list, click
Custom
and enter the
paper size in the dialog box that appears.
Orientation
Select
Po rtra it
or
La nd sc a p e
.
Paper source
Click the paper source you want to use.
Graphics menu
Resolution
Click the printing resolution you want.
Dithering
You can leave this option set to
Fine
,
which is the default setting, or select
another dithering pattern, depending
on the kind of printout you want. The
display to the left of the dithering options
shows the effect of your setting.
Intensity
Move the slider to make your printout
lighter or darker.
Once you’ve checked your printer driver settings, you are ready
to print. If you have any trouble while printing, see Chapter 7,
“Troubleshooting,” for solutions.
