Accessing the printer driver from the Control Panel When you access the p rinter d river from the Wind ow s 3.1 Control Panel, the settings you m ake apply to any Windows ap p lications you op en afterw ard . To access the p rinter d river from the Control Panel, follow these steps: 2 1. In the Main w ind ow , d ou ble-click the Co ntro l Pa ne l icon. 2. Dou ble-click the Printers icon. The Printers d ialog box ap p ears. 3. Make su re you r p rinter is highlighted , then click Se tup . The printer d river settings window appears. Checking and changing printer driver settings Before p rinting, check that the p rinter d river settings are ap p rop riate for the kind of d ocu m ent you w ant to p rint, and change settings as need ed . When you are finished m aking changes, click OK to ap p ly the settings, or click Ca nc el to cancel you r changes. If you accessed the p rinter d river from you r ap p lication, som e of the settings below m ay ap p ear in you r ap p lication's Page Setu p d ialog box. If you accessed the d river from the Control Panel, these settings appear in the printer driver settings wind ow. t Resolution Click the p rinting resolu tion you w ant. t Pap er Size Select the size of the p ap er load ed in the p rinter. If you d on't see you r p ap er size, u se the scroll bar to scroll throu gh the list. Accessing the printer driver from the Control Panel
When you access the printer driver from the Windows 3.1
Control Panel, the settings you make apply to any Windows
applications you open afterward. To access the printer driver
from the Control Panel, follow these steps:
1.
In the Main window, double-click the
Control Panel
icon.
2.
Double-click the
Printers
icon. The Printers dialog box appears.
3.
Make sure your printer is highlighted, then click
Setup
. The
printer driver settings window appears.
Checking and changing printer driver settings
Before printing, check that the printer driver settings are
appropriate for the kind of document you want to print, and
change settings as needed. When you are finished making
changes, click
OK
to apply the settings, or click
Cancel
to
cancel your changes.
If you accessed the printer driver from your application, some of
the settings below may appear in your application’s Page Setup
dialog box. If you accessed the driver from the Control Panel,
these settings appear in the printer driver settings window.
Resolution
Click the printing resolution you want.
Paper Size
Select the size of the paper loaded in the
printer. If you don’t see your paper size,
use the scroll bar to scroll through the
list. If your paper size is not included
in the list, click
User Defined Size
and
enter the paper size in the dialog box
that appears.
