Management Processor Commands MP Command: AR MP Command: AR AR - Automatic partition Restart Configuration • Access level-Administrator • Scope-partition This command allows the operator to set the conditions and actions of the Automatic System Restart (ASR) feature. In the context of this command, system is synonymous with partition. The MP detects configured events and takes appropriate action, allowing a partition to reboot automatically without user intervention. By default, when it is enabled, ASR is performed on a chassis code with an alert level of 13. MP produces chassis codes when a timeout, started by an entity running on a partition, pops before the entity disables it. ASR may be configured for several specific alert level values (e.g., alert level 12 and alert level 13). Using partition status, the MP can differentiate between time-outs due to normal system shutdown or system failures. If there is an active session opened with the partition through the session path, the MP interrupts the session. If the session was activated through an SE command, the MP Main Menu appears at the session client. System sessions opened through the console path are closed by the system.
