12 SET MODE Call Sign Call Sign [MENU] > SET > Call Sign Set or view the "UR," "R1," "R2," and "MY" call signs to use in the DV mode. When not using the DR function, sets the call signs on this screen. For Simplex operation (DV mode) You can set the "UR" and "MY" call signs. For Duplex (repeater) operation (DV mode/DR function) You can set only the "MY" call sign when the DR function is ON. Example: M aking a gateway CQ call to Kirkland repeater (N71H B) from the Hirano repeater (JP3YHH A), in the DV mode. LLBefore starting to set the call sign, set the frequency of your Access repeater and duplex direction on the standby screen. TIP: When the Digital Repeater Set function is ON, the repeater call sign is automatically set. ([MENU] > SET > DV Set > Digital Repeater Set) Step 1. Setting the call sign "R1" 1. Select "R1." LLDO NOT push [ENT]. 2. Push [QUICK]. 3. Select "Edit." 4. Rotate [DIAL] to enter the first character. LLSelectable characters are alphanumeric characters and symbol ("/"). 5. Push D-pad () to move the cursor. 6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 to enter the repeater call sign of up to 8 characters, including a space. (Example: JP3YHH A) 7. After entering, push [ENT]. •• Saves the entered repeater call sign. Step 2. Gateway "R2" setting 1. Select "R2." LLTo manually enter a call sign, push [QUICK], then select "Edit." 2. Select "GW." About the RPT2 SELECT screen NOT USED* For local area calls GW To select the gateway call sign from the repeater list. Repeater name To select the repeater that has the same gateway as the "R1" repeater. Step 3. Destination "UR" setting 1. Select "UR." LLTo manually enter a call sign, push [QUICK], then select "Edit." 2. Select "Gateway CQ." 3. Select a repeater group where your destination repeater is listed. 4. Select a destination repeater. About the YOUR SELECT screen CQCQCQ To select "CQCQCQ" to make a noncall sign specific call. Gateway CQ* To select "Gateway CQ" to make a call using the repeater list. Your Call Sign To select the destination "UR" call sign using the Your Call Sign memory. RX History To select the destination "UR" call sign using RX History.
