12 SET MODE Display Backlight (Default: Auto (DC IN:ON)) [MENU] > SET > Display > Backlight Selects an option for the transceiver backlight. •• OFF: The backlight does not light. •• ON: The backlight lights continuously. •• Auto: T he backlight lights when you push a key or rotate [DIAL], and reduces the brightness* after the set period of time in "Backlight Timer." •• Auto (DC IN:ON): The backlight lights when you push a key or rotate [DIAL], and reduces the brightness* after the set period of time in "Backlight Timer." When an external DC power source is connected, lights continuously. LLWhen using the GPS Logger Only mode, "Auto" is automatically selected. * When "Dim Screen" is set to "OFF," the backlight goes out after the set period of time in "Backlight Timer." Backlight Timer (Default: 10sec) [MENU] > SET > Display > Backlight Timer Sets the Backlight Timer to 5, 10, or 30 seconds. Depending on the "Backlight" setting, the backlight lights for this set period of time, and then automatically reduces the brightness. LLWhen "Dim Screen" is set to "OFF," the backlight goes out after this set period of time.
