Troubleshooting Status and Error Pages Error Page An error page prints if either one of the following occurs with the Novell NetWare protocol: • NC-2 is unable to login to any active file server, or • NC-2 is unable to communicate with any Novell file servers. Examples of each error page are shown on the following pages. This error page prints when you are unable to communicate to any active Novell file servers. Errors For The Ethernet Version Unit Serial Number: 841001 Version 2.00 Print Server Name: OLD Password Defined: No The NC-2 was unable to login to any active NOVELL file servers due to one of the following conditions: a) The file servers may not have been configured with a print server. b) The print server name setting may be incorrect. c) The Novell password for the print server may not have been configured properly. d) The print server password setting may be incorrect. e) The file server is not connected to the NC-2. The following are solutions to resolve each condition listed above: a) Configure a print server using the print server name setting on each active file server with PCONSOLE. b) Verify the print server name with the supplied management utility. Change the setting if incorrect. c) Change the password of the print server configured in each active file server to the setting in PCONSOLE. d) Verify the print server password with the supplied management utility. Change the setting if incorrect. e) Make connections available on file servers by freeing up any unnecessary user connection on the system. Troubleshooting 6-5

An error page prints if either one of the following occurs with the Novell
NetWare protocol:
NC-2 is unable to login to any active file server, or
NC-2 is unable to communicate with any Novell file servers.
Examples of each error page are shown on the following pages.
This error page prints when you are unable to communicate to any active
Novell file servers.

The NC-2 was unable to login to any active NOVELL file servers due to one of the following
conditions:
a) The file servers may not have been configured with a print server.
b) The print server name setting may be incorrect.
c) The Novell password for the print server may not have been configured properly.
d) The print server password setting may be incorrect.
e) The file server is not connected to the NC-2.
The following are solutions to resolve each condition listed above:
a) Configure a print server using the print server name setting on each active file server with
PCONSOLE.
b) Verify the print server name with the supplied management utility.
Change the setting if incorrect.
c) Change the password of the print server configured in each active file server to the setting in
PCONSOLE.
d) Verify the print server password with the supplied management utility.
Change the setting if incorrect.
e) Make connections available on file servers by freeing up any unnecessary user connection
on the system.
