Troubleshooting Novell Protocol It is recommended that you first run the Network Management Utility for Windows to try and troubleshoot your NetWare problem. If you still cannot resolved the problem, then go through the checklist below. Print Server • Check that the print Server name is entered correctly as NC2_ • If the printer is serviced by more than one Print Server make sure the print jobs are directed correctly through PCONSOLE. Printer • Check print queue assignment to be sure that print queues are assigned ONLY to the Print Server printers; otherwise print jobs will go to other network printers. • Check the PCONSOLE configuration to be sure the NC-2 printer(s) are assigned in PCONSOLE to the printer type REMOTE OTHER/UNKNOWN. • Check PCONSOLE configuration to be sure the correct form is enabled. • If you are printing graphics that may require two minutes or longer to print out, increase the timeout using NetWare's PRINTCON or CAPTURE utility. NOTE: If the PCONSOLE settings are correct, the connection between the printer and the network may have been broken. Turn the printer off and wait for a status message that indicates the printer is Not Connected (using PCONSOLE). When printer power is resumed the status should change to Waiting for Job. Troubleshooting
Novell Protocol
It is recommended that you first run the Network Management Utility for
Windows to try and troubleshoot your NetWare problem. If you still cannot
resolved the problem, then go through the checklist below.
Print Server
Check that the print Server name is entered correctly as
NC2_<serial number>
If the printer is serviced by more than one Print Server make sure
the print jobs are directed correctly through PCONSOLE.
Printer
Check print queue assignment to be sure that print queues are
assigned ONLY to the Print Server printers; otherwise print jobs
will go to other network printers.
Check the PCONSOLE configuration to be sure the NC-2
printer(s) are assigned in PCONSOLE to the printer type
REMOTE OTHER/UNKNOWN.
Check PCONSOLE configuration to be sure the correct
form
is
enabled.
If you are printing graphics that may require two minutes or longer
to print out, increase the timeout using NetWare's PRINTCON or
CAPTURE utility.
NOTE: If the PCONSOLE settings are correct, the connection between the printer and the
network may have been broken. Turn the printer off and wait for a status message that
indicates the printer is Not Connected (using PCONSOLE). When printer power is resumed
the status should change to Waiting for Job.
