PAPER FEED PROBLEMS 4.3.7 PAPER BECOMES ROLLED AROUND THE OPC DRUM Description: Paper becomes rolled around the OPC drum. Cause Solution 1. Paper is too thin. 2. The face of the paper is curled. 1. Use paper supported for use in this machine. (See Operator Guide) 2. Ensure that paper is stored correctly. To remove paper from the OPC: 1) Remove the toner cartridge from the machine (do not touch the green surface of the OPC Drum with bare hands). 2) Rotate the gear wheel and remove the paper from the cassette. 3) Clean all fingerprints from the OPC Drum with a soft tissue. Do not scratch the drum surface. 4.3.8 DEFECTIVE ADF Description: ADF does not operate correctly. Cause Solution 1. ADF roller or holder may be damaged. 1. Replace the damaged part. 2. ADF assembly sensors (3) may not operate correctly. 2. Replace the ADF assembly if you cannot identify the problem. Troubleshooting SM 4-15 B273

4.3.7 PAPER BECOMES ROLLED AROUND THE OPC DRUM
Description:
Paper becomes rolled around the OPC drum.
Cause
Solution
1.
Paper is too thin.
2.
The face of the paper is curled.
1.
Use paper supported for use in this
machine. (See Operator Guide)
2.
Ensure that paper is stored correctly.
To remove paper from the OPC:
1) Remove the toner cartridge from the
machine (do not touch the green
surface of the OPC Drum with bare
hands).
2) Rotate the gear wheel and remove the
paper from the cassette.
3) Clean all fingerprints from the OPC
Drum with a soft tissue.
