MACHINE MALFUNCTIONS 4.4.4 PAPER EMPTY 1 Description: "Paper Empty" appears on the LCD when paper is loaded in the cassette. Cause Solution 1. Paper sensor or paper sensor actuator is damaged. 2. SMPS or main PBA is defective. 3. Faulty cables or connectors. 1. Replace the defective sensor or actuator. 2. Replace the SMPS or main board. 3. Check all connections. 4.4.5 PAPER EMPTY 2 Description: "Paper Empty" does not appear on the LCD when there is no paper loaded in the cassette. Cause Solution 1. 4.4.4 PAPER EMPTY 1
Description:
“Paper Empty” appears on the LCD when paper is loaded in the
cassette.
Cause
Solution
1.
Paper sensor or paper sensor actuator is
damaged.
2.
SMPS or main PBA is defective.
3.
Faulty cables or connectors.
1.
Replace the defective sensor or actuator.
2.
Replace the SMPS or main board.
3.
Check all connections.
4.4.5 PAPER EMPTY 2
Description
: “Paper Empty” does not
appear on the LCD when there is no paper
loaded in the cassette.
Cause
Solution
1.
Paper sensor or paper sensor actuator is
damaged.
2.
SMPS or main PBA are defective.
1.
Replace the defective sensor or
actuator.
2.
Replace the SMPS or main board.
4.4.6 COVER OPEN 1
Description:
“Cover Open” message appears on the LCD when the front cover is
closed.
Cause
Solution
1.
“Open Cover” microswitch is stuck or
damaged.
2.
Front cover tab is damaged or broken.
3.
Faulty connection between the switch and
the main PBA.
1.
Perform the cover sensor test in Tech
Mode to check cover switch operation.
Replace the switch if necessary.
2.
Replace the front cover.
3.
Replace the main PBA or cover open
switch if necessary.
