Cooking sensor Note How it works Advantages when cooking Proper cookware Specialized cookware This function allows you to cook on the rear elements. It is suitable for cooking foods that are being heated; are in water, with a lot of oil or butter. The cooking sensor function should not be used to roast. Pans that contain hot food produce heat. The cooking sensor detects this heat and the cooktop automatically regulates the temperature. The element only heats up when necessary. This saves energy. The oil and fat do not overheat. It prevents food from overflowing in the pan when they boil, and help you avoid from having to regulate the temperature. The proper cookware for this function should have a surface that properly gives off the sensor heat. If the cookware is inappropriate, automatic temperature regulation will not work. Food may boil over or burn. The proper size of enameled cookware may be used. The pan base should be of sufficient diameter to cover the element completely. If using stainless steel cookware, use the sensor bands included with the appliance. To use them, attach the sensor band to the pot by means of the adhesive backing. Make certain that the sensor band is always facing the sensor. If the band is not facing the sensor, the controller will not work properly and foods can boil over. You can also purchase the sensor band from your electrical appliance dealer: S SENSORSTRP This cookware can be purchased in specialty stores or via our technical assistance service. Always quote the reference number: S SENSORPOT6 (optimized for working with the cooking sensor). S SENSORPOT7 (optimized for working with the cooking sensor). S SENSORPOTH (optimized for working with the cooking sensor). S CHEFSPAN13 (16" pan oprimized for 13" zone). 17
