Maintaining the DuraStor Storage Subsystem 6 Slide the controller canister into the open bay until the latches hook onto the anchors. ! Caution: Be sure the latches are hooked into the anchors, ! and be gentle as you complete the installation. The pins that the controller mates with inside the DuraStor RAID appliance are very fragile and bend easily. 7 Using your thumbs, push both latches into their locked position. The controller canister automatically slides the rest of the way into the bay and locks into place. 8 Replace the front bezel. See Replacing the Front Bezel on page 3-6. The Fault LED goes out and the Controller Status LED flashes and then becomes solid to show normal controller status. Replacing a Down Controller When in Active-Active Mode Note: Active-active mode is only available when there are two controllers installed in the DuraStor RAID appliance. Refer to the Adaptec Storage Manager Pro User's Guide for more information on operating modes. If one controller detects that the other has a problem, it will kill it and output an event on the system monitor. The Fault LED will light up, the Controller Status LED will light up, and the audible alarm will sound. If the down controller has a permanent failure, you must replace it. See Replacing a RAID Controller on page 5-2. 5-3

Slide the controller canister into the open bay until the latches

Note:
Active-active mode is only available when there are

and output an event on the system monitor. The Fault LED will
light up, the Controller Status LED will light up, and the audible
alarm will sound.
If the down controller has a permanent failure, you must replace it.
