2 About the DuraStor Storage Subsystem In This Chapter About the DuraStor RAID Appliances 2-1 About the DuraStor 312R Storage Enclosure 2-14 This chapter describes the components of the DuraStor Storage Subsystem which is composed of the DuraStor RAID appliance (SCSI or Fibre Channel-to-SCSI) as well as the DuraStor 312R storage enclosure. You should familiarize yourself with all the components of your DuraStor product before you begin installing and using it. About the DuraStor RAID Appliances This section provides illustrated descriptions of the main features of the DuraStor RAID appliances, both SCSI and Fibre Channel-toSCSI. Figure 2-1 provides an overview of both the RAID appliances from the front. Both RAID appliances look similar from the front; the difference is in the back where one provides SCSI connections; the other provide Fibre Channel connections. 2-1
