Connecting the sound cable

2 Tighten the thumbscrews on the connection. You can prevent bad connections and accidental damage by tightening the thumbscrews. Do not overtighten the thumbscrews, you might strip the threads. 3 Connect the PC adapter end of the display cable to the display port on the back of your computer. If you installed a video card in your computer, connect the display cable (with the PC adapter attached to it) to the video card's port. For more information about installing video cards, see the manual that came with your computer or video card. 4 Tighten the thumbscrews on the connection. 5 Leave the ADB connector on the display cable unplugged. The ADB connector is for Macintosh computers only. You don't use it with an IBM PC-compatible computer. Use the clip on the display cable to move the connector out of the way. Connect this cable to your computer if you want to use the built-in microphone and speakers on your AppleVision 1710AV Display. 1 Plug the connector (marked by ≈) on the sound cable into the sound input port on your computer.
