To select a sound output device: 1 Choose Control Panels from the Apple (K) menu and open the Sound control panel. The Sound control panel appears. IMPORTANT If the Sound control panel doesn't appear, you may have a different version of the AppleVision display software. In this case, instructions in this chapter don't apply. See Macintosh Guide for instructions on selecting a sound output device. To open Macintosh Guide, choose Macintosh Guide from the Guide menu (marked with the h icon). 2 Choose Sound Out from the pop-up menu. The Sound Out window appears. 3 Select the Built-in icon. Click to use the AppleVision 1710AV Display as the sound output device. Depending on the type of Macintosh your display is connected to, your panel may look slightly different from the one shown. You select the Built-in icon because the sound cable on the AppleVision 1710AV Display is connected to the sound output port on the back of your computer. Note: If the AppleVision 1710AV Display is connected to an expansion card, select the icon that represents the expansion card. To select a sound output device:

IMPORTANT
If the Sound control panel doesn’t appear, you may have a
different version of the AppleVision display software. In this case, instructions
in this chapter don’t apply. See Macintosh Guide for instructions on selecting
a sound output device. To open Macintosh Guide, choose Macintosh Guide
from the Guide menu (marked with the

icon).

Choose Sound Out from the pop-up menu.
The Sound Out window appears.

Select the Built-in icon.
Depending on the type of Macintosh your display is connected to, your panel
may look slightly different from the one shown.
You select the Built-in icon because the sound cable on the AppleVision
1710
AV
Display is connected to the sound output port on the back of your
computer.
Note:
If the AppleVision 1710
AV
Display is connected to an expansion card,
select the icon that represents the expansion card. For expansion card support,
you need Sound Manager 3.0 (available in System 7.5).
