Adjusting the gamma curve You can adjust the gamma curve on your display to match images you acquire or images you are exporting, whichever is appropriate. For example, most scanners use a gamma value of 1.0, most computer displays (including the Macintosh) use a gamma value of 1.8, and video-editing equipment (such as HDTV) uses a gamma value of 2.2.
