1 Setting Up for Macintosh Users The AppleVision 1710AV Display is a full-page, Trinitron™ color monitor that supports a variety of resolutions. The display includes sound and video support for multimedia application programs and advanced controls for accurate color rendering. The AppleVision 1710AV Display has a diagonal viewable image size of 16.1 inches. The instructions in this chapter discuss important safety information, setting up and connecting the display to your computer, and installing software on your computer. The AppleVision 1710AV Display works with both Macintosh and IBM PC-compatible computers. If you're using your display with an IBM PC-compatible computer, refer to Part II, "Using the Display With Your IBM PC-Compatible Computer." Important safety and cleaning instructions WARNING Do not clean your display screen with a cleaner that contains alcohol or acetone. You might damage the screen. For more information about cleaning your display, see "Care and Cleaning" in Chapter 7. 1
