Clearing Your PC's CMOS (BIOS) Settings Manually Clearing CMOS and Passwords 1 Remove the PC's cover. Refer to page 46. 2 Locate the CMOS jumper (J-6) on the system board. You may need to remove the PC's side panel to gain easier access to the jumper block page 48. 3 To clear both CMOS and password, set the Clear CMOS jumper (J-6) so that it covers the two pins on the opposite end of the jumper block. If you want to clear passwords only, locate the Clear password jumper (J-8) and set the jumper so that it covers the two pins on the opposite end of the jumper block. Replace the cover, reconnect the power cord, reboot your PC, then shut down your system before proceeding with step 4. Clear Passwords Jumper Block (J-8) Clear CMOS and Passwords Jumper Block (J-6) Clear CMOS and Passwods (J-6) Default Position Clear CMOS Clear Passwords only (J-8) Default Position Clear Passwords 4 Reset the jumper to the default position. 5 Replace the cover and reconnect the power cord. 6 Switch on the PC. 7 Press F2 to enter the Setup program. The PC will restart with the new configuration. You now have full access to the Setup program. For more information on Setup, refer to page 22. 80
