Load a roll into the printer using edge holders

1. Load a roll of backlit paper onto the extra-wide spindle. 2. At the front panel, select Paper load > Use extra-wide paper. 3. Follow the normal paper loading procedure from step 2 onwards. See Load a roll into the printer on page 26. NOTE: All paper types other than backlit have a recommended maximum width of 1524 mm (60 in). Load a roll into the printer using edge holders NOTE: The edge holders are designed to prevent the edges of the paper from rising while printing is in progress. They are recommended for non-HP polypropylene papers that may suffer from edge curling. For the rest of the papers the use of this accessory is not necessary. See Load a roll onto the spindle on page 24. If you choose to use the edge holders, select Load roll using Edge Holders in the front panel. Place the edge holders on the platen when prompted by the front panel. Place the edge holders on the print platen as follows: 1. Open the window. 2. Ensure that the area where the edge holder will be applied is clean and free from dust. This will prolong the life of the adhesive pad. 3. Remove the plastic cover of the Edge Holder adhesive pad. Keep the plastic cover to put it back on the edge holders after their use. 4. Place the right edge holder with the broken line aligned with the paper edge ensuring that the horizontal continuous line of the edge holder is aligned with the end of the platen plastic part. Press down firmly. 5. At the end of the paper load process ensure that the paper is slightly overlapped by the edge holder, even when the printer is not printing. 6.
