4. Push down as indicated by the arrow. When the printhead is properly inserted, the front panel displays the following prompt: Close printhead cover and window. NOTE: Any printhead can be used for any color before installation. On installation, the printer configures each printhead to the color of the slot where it is inserted. Once a printhead has been installed, a color is assigned to it and it cannot be changed. CAUTION: You might feel some resistance when installing the new printhead, so you need to press it down firmly but smoothly. You should hear a beep and see confirmation on the front-panel display that the printhead has been inserted. If you have difficulty, see Cannot insert a printhead on page 138. 5. Follow the printer instructions on the front panel in order to install, if necessary, other printheads. The printer will show the specific slot where the printheads need to be installed. 6.
