7. At the end of the paper load process ensure that the paper is slightly overlapped on its left and right edges. 8. Now you are ready to print using the edge holders. Unload a roll from the printer NOTE: If you used the take-up reel during printing, unload the printed roll from the take-up reel before attempting to remove the roll from the printer. See Unload a roll from the take-up reel on page 35. 1. At the printer's front panel, select the icon, then Paper unload > Unload roll. 2. The paper is unloaded from the printer. 3. Release the spindle lock. 4. Remove the roll from the printer, pulling out the right end on the right side of the printer first. Do not insert your fingers into the spindle supports during the removal process. The take-up reel The take-up reel must be enabled and operated from the front panel. If the take-up reel is not enabled and you would like to enable it, select the icon, then select Take-up reel > Enable take-up reel. CAUTION: Make sure the printer is turned off when installing the take-up reel motor on the printer. NOTE: The illustrations in this section do not correspond to the D5800 printer, but can be used as a guide to the installation and use of the take-up reel. The loop-shapers When in use, the take-up reel requires a dangling loop of paper weighed down by a loop shaper. The loop-shaper is used with all paper types.
