Chapter 11 Troubleshooting Following SCSI ID's have the same data Channel-x:a.b.c Problem: The physical disk roaming feature found the same data on two or more physical drives on channel (x) with the listed SCSI IDs (a, b, c, and so on). The adapter cannot determine which drive with duplicate information to use. Suggested solution: Remove the drive or drives that should not be used. Unresolved configuration mismatch between disk(s) and NVRAM on the adapter Problem: The configuration stored in the adapter's NVRAM does not match the configuration stored on the drives. Suggested solution: 1. Start HP NetRAID Express Tools, as described in Step M in Chapter 6. 2. Run the View/Add Configuration option of HP NetRAID Express Tools, as described in the HP NetRAID Series User Guide in Information Assistant. 3. Use View/Add Configuration to examine both configurations, the one for the drives and the one in NVRAM. 4. Resolve the configuration mismatch by selecting one of those configurations to use. Other Troubleshooting NOS Does Not Load (Boot) Problem: Operating system does not load at start up time in a computer with an adapter. Suggested solutions: • Verify that the system is trying to boot from the drive/adapter with the NOS. • Change the BIOS enable/disable as required. 123

Following SCSI ID’s have the same data <v.z>
Channel-x:a.b.c
Problem: The physical disk roaming feature found the same data on two or more
physical drives on channel (x) with the listed SCSI IDs (a, b, c, and so on). The
adapter cannot determine which drive with duplicate information to use.
Suggested solution: Remove the drive or drives that should not be used.
Unresolved configuration mismatch between disk(s) and NVRAM on the adapter
Problem: The configuration stored in the adapter’s NVRAM does not match the
configuration stored on the drives.
Suggested solution:
1.
Start HP NetRAID Express Tools, as described in Step M in Chapter 6.
2.
Run the View/Add Configuration option of HP NetRAID Express Tools,
as described in the
HP NetRAID Series User Guide
in Information
Assistant.
3.
Use View/Add Configuration to examine both configurations, the one for
the drives and the one in NVRAM.
4.
Resolve the configuration mismatch by selecting one of those
configurations to use.
Other Troubleshooting
NOS Does Not Load (Boot)
Problem: Operating system does not load at start up time in a computer with an
adapter.
Suggested solutions:
•
