To change the SCSI Transfer Rate: ◊ Choose SCSI Transfer Rate from the SCSI Channel menu. A submenu appears. ◊ Use the arrow keys to highlight your selection: Fast, Ultra, or Ultra2. Press Return. 6. To change SCSI termination in unusual cases, select from the following operations on the SCSI Channel submenu: ◊ Terminate High 8 Bits: Enables termination on the selected channel for the upper eight bits and disable termination on the adapter for the lower eight bits. Use this setting if the selected SCSI channel is terminated with 8-bit devices at both ends. ◊ Terminate Wide Channel: Enables Wide termination for the selected channel. If the adapter is at one end of the SCSI bus for the selected channel, you must use this option. ◊ Disable Termination: Disables termination on the adapter for the selected channel. Use this option if the selected SCSI channel is terminated with Wide devices at both ends. ◊ Automatic Termination: Enables Automatic Termination on the adapter for the selected channel. This is the default and should normally be used on all HP NetServers. 7. Press Esc to return to the Tools Management menu. Disable the Adapter BIOS If you want to prevent the system from booting from the adapter, you need to disable the adapter BIOS. To disable the adapter BIOS: 1. If there is more than one adapter, select the adapter on which you want to disable the BIOS. ◊ Choose Select Adapter from the Tools Management menu. ◊ Select the adapter for which you want to disable the BIOS. 2. Choose Disable BIOS from the Tools Management menu. 78
