Chapter 13 MtcMon Messages IOPn.MtcMon status: An invalid packet has been received by the Monitor. Packet command = x. Variables x - the transport command type of the received event Severity Error Description This message is generated if an IOP receives a message over the ESI or IL that has a legal transport command type, but is not valid to be received by the IOP. The Fault Handler is invoked, and an IOP or a CE may be removed as a result of this event. Related Messages IOPn.MtcMon status: IOPx has been removed from service. IOPn.MtcMon status: CEx has been removed from service. IOPn.MtcMon status: IOPx is faulted and requires repair. IOPn.MtcMon status: CEx is faulted and requires repair. Hardware/Software Usually, this message is a result of a software error. In rare cases, it can be due to a hardware error that results in the corruption of data on an IOP or CE. Action • When this message is generated, preserve the Fault Handler's event log information and examine it to gather additional information related to the message. • If the IOP is removed as a result of the event, a crash dump may be generated. • If this condition persists, contact your service provider for assistance. IOPn.MtcMon status: An invalid request was made to remove IOPx. Variables x - the ID of the IOP that was not removed Severity Warning Description A request internal to the Endurance software to remove an IOP from service was not valid. Hardware/Software This message is generated as a result of a software operation. Action • Report this Endurance software error to your service provider. • You may have to power cycle the IOP to correct this condition. 230
