Chapter 14 MtcScsiP and MtcScsiR Messages IOPn.MtcScsiP status: DISKn did not come ready, and it will be marked offline. Variables n - the disk number; for example, DISK0, DISK1, DISK2 Severity Error Description The reported disk was found, but it did not come ready for use. Action • Make sure the disk is turned on. • If the disk is powered on, reboot the IOP that contains the disk, and break into the SCSI adapter's BIOS configuration program. • Use the program to set "Send Start Unit Command" for the disk. Do not set this option for SCSI devices containing removable media. • If all else fails, power cycle the IOP to attempt to clear the condition. • If the condition persists, it may be time to replace the disk, or contact your service provider for assistance. IOPn.MtcScsiP status: DISKn did not power up properly, and it will be marked offline. Variables n - the disk number; for example, DISK0, DISK1, DISK2 Severity Error Description A disk did not appear to power up properly. This may occur for a variety of reasons. For example; it may be powered off, it may not be plugged into the SCSI bus, it may have failed, there may be a problem with SCSI termination on the bus, or it may be misconfigured. Action • Reboot the IOP, and verify the disk is powered on, plugged into the SCSI bus, and has correct termination. • If the condition persists, contact your service provider for assistance. 317
