Appendix A: Batteries and Camera Accessories Managing Batteries Your camera uses four AA batteries. For best results, use photo-lithium or rechargeable NiMH batteries. If you must use alkaline batteries, use high-grade "ultra" or "premium" varieties instead of ordinary alkaline batteries.
