Advanced Systems Management Adapter Battery Attention the lithium battery on the Advanced Systems Management Adapter must be handled correctly to avoid possible danger. If you replace the battery, you must adhere to the following instructions and the requirements in the "Battery Notice (Lithium)" on page 185. When replacing the battery, use only FRU 33F8354 or an equivalent type lithium battery recommended by the manufacturer of the battery currently installed in the server. Dispose of the battery as required by local ordinances or regulations and the manufacturer's instructions. 1. Power-off the server and peripheral devices and disconnect all external cables and power cords; then remove the top cover (see "Cover (Top)" on page 72). 2. Locate the battery on the Advanced Systems Management Adapter. Note The Advanced Systems Management Adapter is installed in EISA slot 1. Caution This product contains a lithium battery. The lithium battery presents a fire, explosion, or severe burn risk if handled incorrectly. When replacing the battery, use only IBM FRU Number 33F8354 or an equivalent type lithium battery recommended by the manufacturer of the battery currently installed in your server. Dispose of the battery as required by local ordinances or regulations and the manufacturer's instructions. a. To remove the disc battery, push the battery from the edge toward the center; then lift the battery out of the battery socket. b. To insert the new battery, tilt the battery into the battery socket and press in and down on the battery. Be sure the battery is secure in the battery socket. 66 Netfinity Server HMM

Attention

When replacing the battery, use only FRU 33F8354 or an
equivalent type lithium battery recommended by the
manufacturer of the battery currently installed in the server.
Dispose of the battery as required by local ordinances or
regulations and the manufacturer's instructions.

Power-off the server and peripheral devices and
disconnect all external cables and power cords; then
remove the top cover (see “Cover (Top)” on
page 72).
2.
Locate the battery on the Advanced Systems
Management Adapter.
Note
The Advanced Systems Management Adapter is
installed in EISA slot 1.
