2. Replace the power supply: a. Remove the new power supply from the static-protective package. b. Touch the static-protective package containing the power supply to any unpainted metal surface on the server. Then, remove the power supply from the static-protective package. c. Place the handle 3 on the power supply 2 in the open (up) position, and slide the power supply into the chassis. If necessary, lower the handle slightly to avoid the I/O housing assembly; then, continue inserting the power supply into the bay until it stops. d. Press the handle down to seat the power supply in the bay. This places the power supply in the locked position. e. Reconnect the power cord to the power supply and the electrical outlet (if removed). f. Remove the new strain-relief bracket from its package and install it on the power supply cord. Note If a new strain-relief bracket did not come with the new power supply, attach the strain-relief bracket that you removed in step 1b on page 94 on the new power supply. g. Verify that the AC power light and the DC power light are lit, indicating that the power supply is operating correctly. See "Power supply LED errors" on page 173 for details. a.

supply into the chassis.

d.
Press the handle down to seat the power supply
in the bay.

e.
Reconnect the power cord to the power supply
and the electrical outlet (if removed).
f.
Remove the new strain-relief bracket from its
package and install it on the power supply cord.
Note
If a new strain-relief bracket did not come
with the new power supply, attach the
strain-relief bracket that you removed in step
1b on page
94 on the new power supply.
g.
Verify that the AC power light and the DC power
light are lit, indicating that the power supply is
operating correctly.
