The port has an external connector that can be used to attach to a Y-cable that is shipped with the server. The serial connectors on the Y-cable and the pin-number assignments are the same as for the system serial ports. This Y-cable can be used to attach to a modem that is dedicated to communication with the Advanced System Management PCI Adapter. Advanced System Management Interconnect port: The Advanced System Management PCI Adapter contains an Advanced System Management Interconnect port.
