Power Fault Message in the System Error Log 12V bus A (power to PCI slots) 12V bus B (power to media devices and I/O fans) Failing FRU/Action 1. Disconnect AC power. 2. Remove all PCI adapters except the I\O function card and the system management adapter. 3. Reconnect the AC power and wait about 30 seconds for the system management adapter to initialize. 4. Attempt to start the system. If the system starts, one of the FRUs removed is the failing FRU. Reinstall the FRUs one at a time to identify the failing FRU. 5. If the system does not start, suspect FRUs in the following order: a. I/O Function card b. System management adapter c. I/O board d. Midplane e. Power supply 1. Disconnect AC power. 2. Remove all internal media devices (DASD, CD-ROM, tape, and floppy drives). 3. Remove the SCSI backplane. 4. Remove all the I/O fans (4, 5, and 6) 5. Reconnect the AC power and wait about 30 seconds for the system management adapter to initialize. 6. Attempt to start the system. If the system starts, one of the FRUs removed is the failing FRU. Reinstall the FRUs one at a time to identify the failing FRU. 7. If the system does not start, suspect FRUs in the following order: a. Midplane b. Power control card c.
