Previous view 6 D-STAR OPERATION Making a Local area call A Local area call can be made when "Local CQ" is used to set "CQCQCQ" in "TO" (Destination). ✓✓ What is a Local Area Call?? To call through your local area (access) repeater. 1. Set "FROM" (Access repeater) qqTouch [DR]. wwCheck whether or not "FROM" is selected. • If "FROM" is not selected, touch the "FROM" field. eeTouch the "FROM" field. • Opens the "FROM SELECT" screen. 2. Set "TO" (Destination) uuTouch the "TO" field. • Check whether "TO" is selected. iiTouch the "TO" field again. • Opens the "TO SELECT" screen. rrTouch "Repeater List." • Opens the "REPEATER GROUP" screen. ooTouch "Local CQ." • Returns to the DR screen, and "CQCQCQ" is displayed in "TO." ttTouch the repeater group where your access repeater is listed. (Example: "11: Japan") 3. Hold down [PTT] to transmit • The LED1 on the microphone lights red. yyTouch your access repeater. (Example: "Hirano") • Returns to the DR screen, and the selected repeater name is displayed in "FROM." For your reference: The Local CQ call is used to call anyone, but you can call a specific station by simply saying their call sign. 6-13
