5 Maintenance Issuing a USB authentication key Management > Management Tools By setting an authentication key and saving it to a USB flash drive, you can securely authenticate the USB flash drive that is used for automatic backup and restore, or updating the firmware. When the USB authentication key is set, the VE-PG4 reads or writes the setting data or the firmware from/to only the USB flash drive that has a matching authentication key. 1 Insert the USB flash drive into the USB port (example: USB1 port) of the VE-PG4. •• The [USB1] indicator lights green when the USB flash drive is successfully mounted. [USB1] port 2 Open the Management Tools screen of the RoIP Gateway setting screen. Issuing a USB authentication key
By setting an authentication key and saving it to a USB flash drive, you can securely authenticate the USB
flash drive that is used for automatic backup and restore, or updating the firmware.
When the USB authentication key is set, the VE-PG4 reads or writes the setting data or the firmware
from/to
only the USB flash drive that has a matching authentication key.

Insert the USB flash drive into the USB port (example: USB1 port) of the
VE-PG4.
The [USB1] indicator lights green when the USB flash drive is successfully
mounted.

Open the Management Tools screen of the RoIP Gateway setting screen.
(Management > Management Tools)

In [USB], enter the USB Authentication Key of up to 64 characters, and then Click <Apply>.
