4 Configuring the PBX system Before using the PBX ■■Installation overview The following shows a typical setting procedure for the PBX system in the VE-PG4 Setting screen. 1 Network settings ••Network Settings > IP Address Enter the IP address according to your network environment. (Default: 192.168.0.1) ••Network Settings > DHCP Server Enable or disable the built-in DHCP server function. (Default: Disable) 2 IP Line Settings Set the connection to the upstream SIP server, or Peer to Peer SIP URI, according to your network environment. Refer to your upstream SIP server settings. ••IP Line Settings > IP Line ••IP Line Settings > Peer to Peer 3 PBX settings ••PBX > Basic / Special Number Set the "Music on Hold" and special numbers. (pp.4-3 ~ 4-6) ••PBX > Extension / Extension Group / Inbound Call Register extension terminals (SIP phones), the preset external phone number, the model name of each extension telephone, ring tones for incoming internal and external calls, extension priority assignment for the inbound calls, and so on. (p.4-7) ••PBX Extension > Telephone / Phonebook (for KX series telephones) If desired, enter the SIP phone's key function assignments and phonebook. 4 Destination Settings for the telephones Assign the extension numbers to the extension terminals registered in the step 3 above. (p.4-8) 5 Destination settings for the transceivers ••PBX Transceiver Call Settings > Callee ID to Phone Number Assign the extension number and call type to each destination transceiver. (p.4-9) 6 Detailed settings for telephone - transceiver communications ••PBX Extension > Transceiver Controller Telephone Connection If required, set the details for the transceiver controller telephone connection, such as notice tones, PTT control settings, and release timer. (Operating guide) 7 Setting up the telephones Connect the IP phones to the VE-PG4, and then do the initial settings on each IP phone to control them by the VE-PG4.
