6 For your information Using the Virtual serial port ■■Installing the Virtual serial port 1 Log in to your PC as the administrator. LLClose all the other applications. 2 Extract the Virtual serial port software that was downloaded from the Icom web site, and open the extracted folder. 3 Double click "VirtualSerialPort.exe." •• The Virtual Serial Port application opens. LLClick in the "User account Control" dialog, if displayed. 4 Click. Click LLYou can add up to 64 virtual serial ports. LLIf a security warning dialog is displayed or the application asks you to reboot the PC, follow the displayed instructions. 5 When the installation is finished, the COM port number(Example: COM7) will appear in the above window. LLThe COM port number may differ, depending on your PC environment. 6 Select a COM port, and then click . q Select LLYou can also double click the COM port to open the properties window. w Click 6-16

Using the Virtual serial port

Log in to your PC as the administrator.

Close all the other applications.

Extract the Virtual serial port software that was downloaded from the Icom web site, and open the
extracted folder.

Double click “VirtualSerialPort.exe.”

The Virtual Serial Port application opens.

Click <Yes> in the “User account Control” dialog, if displayed.

Click<Add>.

You can add up to 64 virtual serial ports.

If a security warning dialog is displayed or the application asks you to reboot the PC, follow the displayed
instructions.

When the installation is finished, the COM port number(Example: COM7) will appear in the above
window.
