2 Setting up the transceivers Connecting the IC-SAT100 The following is an example of connecting the RoIP Gateway and Satellite PTTs (IC-SAT100), that enables you to make a call between an IP transceiver and a client Satellite PTT. ••Each IC-SAT100 connected to the RoIP Gateway is required to be assigned a fixed unique group ID. ••Enter only one fixed Talkgroup to the IC-SAT100. If you want to use the Emergency Call function, connect another IC-SAT100 to the [EXT] port for the emergency calls. Example: Talkgroup 1 (for usual calls): Uses the Satellite PTT A on the [EXT1] port. Talkgroup 2 (for emergency calls): Uses the Satellite PTT B on the [EXT2] port. 4G/3G IP transceiver 1 ID: 00011 Group ID: 00001 Satellite PTT A [EXT1] Talkgroup 1 Satellite Satellite PTT Client A1 IC-SAT100 VE-PG4 (192.168.0.1) IP transceiver 2 ID: 00012 Group ID: 00002 Satellite PTT B [EXT2] Talkgroup 2 Satellite PTT Client B1 IC-SAT100 Before connecting the IC-SAT100 to the RoIP Gateway: ••On the IC-SAT100, select "Multi-Connector" in the PC Command setting. ([OK] > Function > PC Command) ••In the RoIP Gateway, select "IC-SAT100" in the Transceiver Model setting for the EXT port that you want to connect the IC-SAT100 to. (Connection Port Settings > EXT I/O (EXT) > Transceiver Model) NOTE: ••The transceiver receives and transmits using several satellites following the same orbit. Receiving and transmitting may fail, depending on the satellite position or any obstacles between the transceiver and the satellites. ••Be sure to set up the IC-SAT100 that is connected to the RoIP Gateway with the OPC-2412 connection cable (length: 5 m (16.4 ft)) in a place where it can receive and transmit from/to the satellites. SETTING UP THE TRANSCEIVERS
2-26
NOTE:
• The transceiver receives and transmits using several satellites following the same orbit.
Receiving and transmitting may fail, depending on the satellite position or any obstacles between the
transceiver and the satellites.
• Be sure to set up the IC-SAT100 that is connected to the RoIP Gateway with the OPC-2412
CONNECTION
CABLE
(length: 5 m (
16.4 ft)
) in a place where it can receive and transmit from/to the satellites.
The following is an example of connecting the RoIP Gateway and Satellite PTTs (IC-SAT100), that enables
you to make a call between an IP transceiver and a client Satellite PTT.
Each IC-SAT100 connected to the RoIP Gateway is required to be assigned a fixed unique group ID.
Enter only one fixed Talkgroup to the IC-SAT100. If you want to use the Emergency Call function, connect
another IC-SAT100 to the [EXT] port for the emergency calls.
Example: Talkgroup 1 (for usual calls):
Uses the Satellite PTT A on the [EXT1] port.
Talkgroup 2 (for emergency calls):
Uses the Satellite PTT B on the [EXT2] port.
