Installing and Removing a PCI Add-in Card The following sections describe how to install and remove a PCI add-in card. Installing a PCI Add-in Card To install a PCI add-in card, follow these steps: 1. Remove the PCI riser assembly. For instructions, see "Removing the PCI Riser Assembly" on page 50. 2. Open the rear retention clip by pushing the blue slide upward and rotating clip to the fully open position (see letter "A" in Figure 36). 3. Open the front retention clip by pushing the blue latch in the direction shown and rotating 90 degrees outward (see letter "B" in Figure 36). 4. Remove the filler panel from the selected add-in card slot (see letter "C" in Figure 36). 5. Insert add-in card until it seats in riser card connector (see letter "D" in Figure 36). Close the front retention clip and push the blue latch forward to lock it into place. Installing and Removing a PCI Add-in Card
The following sections describe how to install and remove a PCI add-in card.
Installing a PCI Add-in Card
To install a PCI add-in card, follow these steps:
1.
Remove the PCI riser assembly. For instructions, see
“Removing the PCI Riser
Assembly” on page 50
.
2.
Open the rear retention clip by pushing the blue slide upward and rotating clip to
the fully open position (see letter “A” in
Figure 36
).
3.
Open the front retention clip by pushing the blue latch in the direction shown and
rotating 90 degrees outward (see letter “B” in
Figure 36
).
4.
Remove the filler panel from the selected add-in card slot (see letter “C” in
Figure 36
).
5.
Insert add-in card until it seats in riser card connector (see letter “D” in
Figure 36
).
