Removing a SAS or SATA Hot-swap Hard Disk Drive To remove a SAS or SATA hot-swap hard disk drive from Intel® Server System SR2600UR, follow these steps: 1. Press the green latch towards the black lever and pull out on the lever to release the the hard drive carrier. 2. Slide the carrier from the server system. 3. Remove the four screws that attach the hard drive to the drive carrier. Lift the drive from the carrier and store the drive in an anti-static bag. 4. Do one of the following: e. To install the replacement drive, see "Installing a SAS or SATA Hot-swap Hard Disk Drive" on page 71. f. If you are not installing a drive, place the plastic retention device into the drive carrier and secure the device by inserting the four screws your removed from the hard drive into the screw locations on the carrier. Note: To maintain proper system cooling, all hard drive carriers must be installed in the server system and populated with either a drive or a drive blank. 5. With the black lever in the fully open position, slide the drive carrier into the server system and push all the way until it stops. 6. Close the lever to lock the drive carrier into place. Installing and Removing a Hot-swap 2.5 inch Hard Drive (Intel® Server System SR2625UR only) In the Intel® Server System SR2625UR, you can install up to eight hot-swap 2.5 inch SAS or SATA drives. Cautions: If you install less than eight drives or devices, empty drive bays must be occupied by carriers with baffles or with a filler panel provided for drive locations 6 and 7 to maintain proper system cooling. To avoid possible damage to your server system, do not use older style drive carriers. Note: The server system does not support all hard drives. Removing a SAS or SATA Hot-swap Hard Disk Drive
To remove a SAS or SATA hot-swap hard disk drive from Intel
®
Server System
SR2600UR, follow these steps:
1.
