Insight Instant AirBridge WBC502 User Manual Recommendations for configuration For a master-to-satellite, site-to-site setup, we recommend that you complete the initial pairing of the AirBridges at a staging area with easy access to the network that is to supply connectivity to the master and access point. For information about the hardware setup, see the hardware installation manual, which you can download by visiting netgear.com/support/download/. We recommend the following configuration order: • If you manually configure AirBridges in a master-to-satellite setup (or change such an existing configuration), we recommend that you first configure the satellite and then configure the master. After you complete the configurations, the WiFi backhaul connection between the master and satellite is automatically established. Note: If you first configure the master and then configure the satellite, the WiFi backhaul connection between the master and satellite is not (or no longer) operational, and you might not be able to access the satellite. • Similarly, if you manually configure an AirBridge as a client bridge in an access point-to-client bridge setup (or change such an existing configuration), we recommend that you first configure the client bridge and then configure the access point. (The access point can be an AirBridge or another type of access point.) After you complete the configurations, the WiFi backhaul connection between the access point and client bridge is automatically established. Note: If you first configure the access point and then configure the client bridge, the WiFi backhaul connection between the access point and client bridge is not (or no longer) operational, and you might not be able to access the client bridge. Configure the AirBridge as a master in a point-to-point or point-to-multipoint setup You can configure the AirBridge as a master in a point-to-point or point to-multipoint setup. You install the master at a main site to provide network and Internet connectivity to one or more satellites at detached sites where no wired infrastructure is available. This setup requires a line of sight between the main site and each detached site. Note: We do not recommend that you use a master and several satellites to create a multi-building campus network backbone. Manually Configure or Change 38 the Operation Mode User Manual

Recommendations for configuration
For a master-to-satellite, site-to-site setup, we recommend that you complete the initial
pairing of the AirBridges at a staging area with easy access to the network that is to
supply connectivity to the master and access point. For information about the hardware
setup, see the hardware installation manual, which you can download by visiting
netgear.com/support/download/
.
We recommend the following configuration order:
If you manually configure AirBridges in a master-to-satellite setup (or change such
an existing configuration), we recommend that you first configure the satellite and
then configure the master. After you complete the configurations, the WiFi backhaul
connection between the master and satellite is automatically established.
Note:
If you first configure the master and then configure the satellite, the WiFi
backhaul connection between the master and satellite is not (or no longer)
operational, and you might not be able to access the satellite.
Similarly, if you manually configure an AirBridge as a client bridge in an access
point-to-client bridge setup (or change such an existing configuration), we
recommend that you first configure the client bridge and then configure the access
point. (The access point can be an AirBridge or another type of access point.) After
you complete the configurations, the WiFi backhaul connection between the access
point and client bridge is automatically established.
Note:
If you first configure the access point and then configure the client bridge,
the WiFi backhaul connection between the access point and client bridge is not (or
no longer) operational, and you might not be able to access the client bridge.
Configure the AirBridge as a master in a
point-to-point or point-to-multipoint setup
You can configure the AirBridge as a master in a point-to-point or point to-multipoint
setup. You install the master at a main site to provide network and Internet connectivity
to one or more satellites at detached sites where no wired infrastructure is available.
This setup requires a line of sight between the main site and each detached site.
Note:
We do not recommend that you use a master and several satellites to create a
multi-building campus network backbone.
