07-115 SSHP_II 5/7/07 4:00 PM Page 50 3-20. Duct for Fresh Air There is a duct connection port (knock-out hole) at the right-rear on the panel top of the indoor unit for drawing in fresh air. If it is necessary to draw in fresh air, remove the cover by knocking it out and connect the duct to the indoor unit through the connection port. (Fig. 3-87) If connection at the right-rear on the panel top is not appropriate, another duct connection port can be made by cutting an opening on the left side of the rear panel of the indoor unit as shown in Fig. 3-88. Installing the Drain Piping G Prepare a standard PVC pipe for the drain and connect it to the indoor unit drain pipe with the supplied hose clamps to prevent water leaks. G Connect the drain piping so that it slopes downward from the unit to the outside. (Fig. 3-89) G Never allow traps to occur in the course of the piping. G After connecting the drain pipe securely, wrap the supplied drain pipe insulator around the pipe, seal the gap at the drain socket with the supplied black insulation tape, then secure it with clamps. Duct for Fresh Air
There is a duct connection port (knock-out hole) at the
right-rear on the panel top of the indoor unit for drawing
in fresh air. If it is necessary to draw in fresh air, remove
the cover by knocking it out and connect the duct to the
indoor unit through the connection port. (Fig. 3-87)
If connection at the right-rear on the panel top is not
appropriate, another duct connection port can be made
by cutting an opening on the left side of the rear panel of
the indoor unit as shown in Fig. 3-88.

Installing the Drain Piping
Prepare a standard PVC pipe for the drain and
connect it to the indoor unit drain pipe with the
supplied hose clamps to prevent water leaks.
Connect the drain piping so that it slopes downward
from the unit to the outside. (Fig. 3-89)
Never allow traps to occur in the course of the piping.
Insulate any piping inside the room to prevent
dripping.
Use the supplied drain pipe to connect the drain pipe
with the drain outlet of the indoor unit.
After connecting the drain pipe securely, wrap the
supplied drain pipe insulator around the pipe, seal
the gap at the drain socket with the supplied black
insulation tape, then secure it with clamps.

After the drain piping, pour water into the drain pan to
check that the water drains smoothly.
