Chapter 10 Maintenance and Inspection Maintenance and Inspection 10 Chapter 10-1 Removing a Cassette When Tape Slack Occurs If tape slack occurs in the unit, it is necessary to remove the upper lid and sound baffle. This job should always be entrusted to a technician who has undergone service training. For details, refer to the Installation Manual. 10-2 Head Cleaning To clean the video heads and audio heads, always use the special-purpose Sony BCT-HD12CL cleaning cassette. If you insert the cleaning cassette, it is automatically ejected after a head cleaning operation which lasts for 10 seconds. Follow the instructions with the cleaning cassette carefully, as inappropriate use of the cleaning cassette can damage the heads.
