Choose the menu Multicast Routing→PIM SM→PIM SM Neighbor to load the following page. Figure 11-21 PIM SM neighbor The following entries are displayed on this screen: Search Option Search Option: ALL: Displays all entries. Interface: Select Interface and enter the interface ID of your desired entry. Neighbor: Select Neighbor and enter the neighbor address of your desired entry. PIM SM Neighbor Interface: Neighbor: Uptime: Expires: The physical interface on which PIM DM is enabled. The IP address of the PIM neighbor for which this entry contains information. The time since the PIM neighbor (last) became a neighbor of the local switch. The time remaining before the PIM neighbor will be aged out. 11.4.3 BSR PIM SM uses a Bootstrap Router (BSR), which advertises information to other multicast routers about the rendezvous point (RP). In a given network, a set of routers can be administratively enabled as candidate bootstrap routers(C-BSR). If it is not apparent which router should be the BSR, the candidates flood the domain with advertisements. The router with the highest priority is elected. If all the priorities are equal, then the candidate with the highest IP address becomes the BSR. 255
