Troubleshooting During AUTO SETUP Error message E-1:NO FRONT SP E-2:NO SUR.SP E-3:NO PRNS SP E-4:SBR.SBL E-5:NOISY E-6:CHECK SUR. E-7:NO MIC E-8:NO SIGNAL E-9:USER CANCEL E-10:INTERNAL ERROR After AUTO SETUP Cause Remedy Front L/R channel signals are not detected. A surround channel signal is not detected. A presence channel signal is not detected. Only right surround back channel signal is detected. Background noise is too loud. Surround back speakers are connected, though surround L/R speakers are not. The optimizer microphone was unplugged during the "AUTO SETUP" procedure. The optimizer microphone does not detect test tones. The "AUTO SETUP" procedure was cancelled due to user activity. An internal error occurred. Check the front L/R speaker connections. Check the surround speaker connections. Check the presence speaker connections. Connect the surround back speaker to the SURROUND BACK (SINGLE) speaker terminal if you only have one surround back speaker. Try running "AUTO SETUP" in a quiet environment. Turn off noisy electric equipment like air conditioners or move them away from the optimizer microphone. Connect surround speakers when you use surround back speakers. Connect the supplied optimizer microphone to the OPTIMIZER MIC jack on the front panel. Check the microphone setting. Check the speaker connections and placement. Run "AUTO SETUP" again. Run "AUTO SETUP" again. See page 16 16 16 16 - - 17 37 37 16 37 37 Warning message Cause Remedy W-1:OUT OF PHASE W-2:OVER 24m (80ft) W-3:LEVEL ERROR Speaker polarity is not correct. This message may appear depending on the speakers even when the speakers are connected correctly. The distance between the speaker and the listening position is over 24 m (80 ft). The difference of volume level among speakers is excessive. Check the speaker connections for proper polarity (+ or -). Bring the speaker closer to the listening position. Readjust the speaker installation so that all speakers are set in locations with similar conditions. Check the speaker connections. Use speakers of similar quality. Adjust the output volume of the subwoofer. Notes • If the "ERROR" or "WARNING" screens appears, check the cause of the problem, then run "AUTO SETUP" again. • If warning message "W-2" or "W-3" appears, the adjustments are made, however the adjustment may not be optimal. • Depending on the speakers, warning message "W-1" may appears even if the speaker connections are correct. • If error message "E-10" occurs repeatedly, contact a qualified Yamaha service center.
