FM/AM tuning There are 2 tuning methods: automatic and manual. Automatic tuning is effective when station signals are strong and there is no interference. If the signal from the station you want to select is weak, tune into it manually. You can also use the automatic and manual preset tuning features to store up to 40 stations (A1 to E8: 8 preset station numbers in each of the 5 preset station groups). Furthermore, you can recall any preset stations and exchange the assignment of two preset stations with each other. Note Orient the connected FM and AM antennas for the best reception. Automatic tuning Manual tuning Automatic tuning is effective when station signals are strong and there is no interference. If the signal received from the station you want to select is weak, tune into it manually. 1 Rotate the CINPUT selector on the front panel to select "TUNER" as the input source. 2 Press IFM/AM to select the reception band. "FM" or "AM" appears in the front panel display. Note Manually tuning into an FM station automatically switches the tuner to monaural reception to increase the signal quality. 1 Rotate the CINPUT selector on the front panel to select "TUNER" as the input source. 3 Press KTUNING MODE so that the AUTO indicator lights up in the front panel display. 2 Press IFM/AM to select the reception band. "FM" or "AM" appears in the front panel display. A FM 88.9 MHz AUTO No colon (:) Lights up If a colon (:) appears in the front panel display, tuning is not possible. Press HPRESET/TUNING to turn the colon (:) off. 4 Press GPRESET/TUNING/CH l / h once to begin automatic tuning. When this unit is tuned into a station, the TUNED indicator lights up and the frequency of the received station is shown in the front panel display. • Press Gh to tune into a higher frequency. • Press Gl to tune into a lower frequency. 3 Press KTUNING MODE so that the AUTO indicator disappears from the front panel display.
