Surround back speaker (SB) Connect a single surround speaker to the SURROUND BACK (SINGLE) speaker terminals and place the single surround back speaker behind the listening position. The surround back left and right channel signals are mixed down and output at the single surround back speaker when you set "SUR.B L/R SP" to "SMLx1" or "LRGx1" (see page 81). For the smooth and unbroken sound field behind the listening position, place the surround left and right speakers farther back compared with the placement in the 7.1-channel speaker layout. The surround back channel signals are directed to the surround left and right speakers when "SUR.B L/R SP" is set to "NONE" (see page 81). For other speaker combinations You can enjoy multi-channel sources with sound field programs by using a speaker combination other than the 7.1/ 6.1/5.1-channel speaker combinations. Use the automatic setup feature (see page 37) or set the "SPEAKER SET" parameters in "MANUAL SETUP" (see page 80) to output the surround sounds at the connected speakers. 14 En
