Chapter 18 Dynamic ARP 18.3.4 MAC-IP Binding The Switch uses a binding table to distinguish between authorized and unauthorized DHCP and ARP packets in your network. A binding contains these key attributes: • MAC address • VLAN ID • IP address When the Switch receives a DHCP or ARP packet, it looks up the appropriate MAC address, VLAN ID and IP address in the binding table. If there is a binding, the Switch forwards the packet. If there is not a binding, the Switch discards the packet. 18.4 Dynamic ARP Setting Click Security > Dynamic ARP > Dynamic ARP Setting in the navigation panel. The screen will display as shown below. Table 44 Security > Dynamic ARP > Dynamic ARP Setting LABEL DESCRIPTION State Select Enable to activate Dynamic ARP on the Switch. Select Disable to deactivate Dynamic ARP on the Switch.
