Prestige 314 PLUS Broadband Sharing Gateway with 4-Port Switch Appendix E NetBIOS Filter Commands The following describes the NetBIOS packet filter commands. Introduction NetBIOS (Network Basic Input/Output System) are TCP or UDP broadcast packets that enable a computer to connect to and communicate with a LAN. For some dial-up services such as PPPoE or PPTP, NetBIOS packets cause unwanted calls. You can configure NetBIOS filters to: • Block or forward NetBIOS packets from being sent from the LAN to the WAN. • Block or forward NetBIOS packets from being sent from the WAN to the LAN. • Allow or deny NetBIOS packets to be sent through VPN connections. • Block or forward NetBIOS packets from initiating calls. Display NetBIOS Filter Settings Syntax: sys filter netbios disp This command displays the current NetBIOS filter settings.
