4 Start Bottom Plate Cleaning. (1) Display the Maintenance screen. (2) Use [ ] or [ ] to select , then press [OK]. (3) When the confirmation message is displayed, select and press [OK]. The paper is ejected. Inspect the discharged paper. If dust or dirt can be seen on the paper, repeat the cleaning process. Note If the discharged paper still appears dirty after you have run this clean process, the inside of your machine is probably extremely dirty. Clean the inside of the machine in accordance with the following directions. See "Cleaning The Protrusions Inside The Machine" on page 97. „ Cleaning The Protrusions Inside The Machine If the protrusions inside the machine are stained, wipe ink off the protrusions using a swab or something similar. Important Before cleaning, be sure to turn OFF the machine. Caution Do not touch the transparent film (A), film cable (B), ink absorber (sponge part) (C), or any metal parts. Routine Maintenance

Start Bottom Plate Cleaning.
(1)
Display the Maintenance screen.
(2)
Use [
] or [
] to select <Bottom plate cleaning>, then press [OK].
(3)
When the confirmation message is displayed, select <Yes> and press [OK].
The paper is ejected.
Inspect the discharged paper. If dust or dirt can be seen on the paper, repeat the cleaning
process.
Cleaning The Protrusions Inside The Machine
If the protrusions inside the machine are stained, wipe ink off the protrusions using a swab or
something similar.
Note
If the discharged paper still appears dirty after you have run this clean
process, the inside of your machine is probably extremely dirty.
Clean the inside of the machine in accordance with the following
directions.
See “Cleaning The Protrusions Inside The Machine” on page 97.
Important
Before cleaning, be sure to turn OFF the machine.
Caution
Do not touch the transparent film (A), film cable (B), ink absorber (sponge
part) (C), or any metal parts.
