CUSTOMIZING THE FORERUNNER You can customize both general Forerunner settings and settings that apply to individual sports, such as Custom pages, heart rate zones, and speed zones. Changing General Settings Settings such as time zone, units of measure, backlight, contrast, sounds, and language affect all sport modes in the Forerunner. You can also turn off or reset scanning for heart rate. Change these settings from the General Settings page. To open the General Settings page: 1. Press mode to access Menu mode. Then highlight Settings and press enter. 2. Highlight General and press enter. CUSTOMIZING > CHANGING GENERAL SETTINGS To change time settings: 1. From the General Settings page, highlight Set Time and press enter. 2. Select a time format and time zone and enable or disable daylight saving time. To change units of measure 1. From the General Settings page, highlight Set Units and press enter. 2. Select statute or metric units for distance and speed and select units for heart rate. To change backlight and contrast: 1. From the General Settings page, highlight Set Display and press enter. 2. Select the amount of time the backlight stays on and the amount of screen contrast.
