Managing the SAN Switch 2/32 Setting the Switch Date and Time All switches maintain current date and time in non-volatile memory. Date and time are used for logging events. Switch operation does not depend on the date and time; a switch with an incorrect date and time value still functions properly. Uses these steps to set the date and time of a switch. 1. Login to the switch as the admin user. 2. At the command line, enter the following command: date "MMDDhhmmYY" where: - MM is the month, valid values are 01-12. - DD is the date, valid values are 01-31. - hh is the hour, valid values are 00-23. - mm is minutes, valid values are 00-59. - YY is the year, valid values are 00-99. Note: Year values greater than 69 are interpreted as 1970-1999; year values less than 70 are interpreted as 2000-2069. The date function does not support daylight saving time or time zones. Setting the Switch Date and Time
All switches maintain current date and time in non-volatile memory. Date and
time are used for logging events. Switch operation does not depend on the date
and time; a switch with an incorrect date and time value still functions properly.
Uses these steps to set the date and time of a switch.
1.
Login to the switch as the admin user.
2.
At the command line, enter the following command:
date "MMDDhhmmYY"
where:
MM is the month, valid values are 01–12.
DD is the date, valid values are 01–31.
hh is the hour, valid values are 00–23.
mm is minutes, valid values are 00–59.
YY is the year, valid values are 00–99.
Note:
Year values greater than 69 are interpreted as 1970-1999; year values less than
70 are interpreted as 2000-2069. The date function does not support daylight saving
time or time zones.
Displaying Switch Configuration Settings
Use these steps to display the system configuration settings.
