Installing a printer driver via IPP (Internet Printing Protocol) To use your machine as a printer with IPP, install the printer drivers using the "Add Printer" wizard. NOTE 1 Installing the driver • You must have administrator privileges in order to install the printer driver. • To use the printer driver via IPP, confirm in advance that your network environment can use the HTTP protocol. • Enable the IPP port from Message Board screen in advance. Log on to Message Board as an administrator, click [Machine Mgmt. Settings]  [Secure Settings]  [Machine Policy Settings], then open "Service setting", and set the "IPP" setting underneath "PC Print" to ON. • To specify the printer name, confirm in advance that your network environment can use DNS. • When using the GDI printer driver via IPP, you cannot use the enlarge/reduce, combine, and booklet functions. • When using the FAX driver via IPP, you cannot use the enlarge/reduce function. „„ Preparation for Windows Server 2012 / Windows Sever 2008 R2 / Windows Sever 2008 When using Windows Server 2012, Windows Server 2008 R2 or Windows Server 2008, settings must be specified in the operating system before the printer driver is installed. When using Windows Server 2012 1 Click "Server Manager" icon on the task bar on the "Desktop" screen. If the "Server Manager" icon is not displayed on the task bar, click "Control Panel" on the "Start" screen, then click "Administrative Tools", and double-click "Server Manager". 2 Click "Add roles and features" in the "Dashboard" windows. 3 Click [Next], until the "Features" screen appears. 4 Select the [Internet Printing Client] check box to install the feature. 5 Restart the computer. When using Windows Server 2008 R2 and Windows Server 2008 1 Click the [Start]. 2 Point to [Administrative Tools], and then click [Server Manager]. If the [User Account Control] dialog box appears, click the [Continue] or the [Yes]. 3 In the [Server Manager] main window, click [Add Features] in the [Features Summary] section. 4 Select the [Internet Printing Client] check box to install the feature. 5 Restart the computer. Installing a printer driver via IPP (Internet Printing Protocol)
To use your machine as a printer with IPP, install the printer drivers using the “Add
Printer” wizard.
NOTE
You must have administrator privileges in order to install the printer driver.
To use the printer driver via IPP, confirm in advance that your network environment
can use the HTTP protocol.
Enable the IPP port from Message Board screen in advance.
Log on to Message
Board as an administrator, click [Machine Mgmt. Settings]
[Secure Settings]
[Machine Policy Settings], then open “Service setting”, and set the “IPP” setting
underneath “PC Print” to ON.
To specify the printer name, confirm in advance that your network environment can
use DNS.
When using the GDI printer driver via IPP, you cannot use the enlarge/reduce,
combine, and booklet
functions.

Preparation for Windows Server 2012 / Windows Sever 2008 R2
/ Windows Sever 2008
When using Windows Server 2012, Windows Server 2008 R2 or Windows Server 2008,
settings must be specified in the operating system before the printer driver is installed.
When using Windows Server 2012

Click “Server Manager” icon on the task bar on the “Desktop” screen.
If the “Server Manager” icon is not displayed on the task bar, click “Control Panel” on the “Start”
screen, then click “Administrative Tools”, and double-click “Server Manager”.
